in all seriousness, this is the problem with centralized search like this. or centralized anything. they might seem competent and like they'll always be there and never go down but when they do. then what.

@eris i think browsers should make it easier to add more specific search engines. firefox does this but it's not really promoted well. like right now i'm not really bothered by duckduckgo not working because i can directly search mdn and wikipedia and things and i can remember domains (or use history) for other website i'll need today.

@eris if i know the answer i'm looking for will be on stackexchange then why use duckduckgo in the first place? (ignore how i use it for searching stackexchange)
