actually this does raise a point. if it's a private corporation it has owners. who is that? who owns it? amelia? the admins? the largest contributors? are they gonna pay their moderators and admins and contributors? how? with what money? donations? like. what are the logistics of this. im sure they've thought about it, but it's not transparent at all how it's actually gonna work. it's distant and... well. corporate.

@stupidpuppy it's literally just bureaucratic fees. the point of those fees are that you pay them because you need the legal status BECAUSE you have enough revenue to pay them (in theory). but, they dont have revenue because they're not a corporation, so yes it's literally just a pit of fire

It's not just them too, like every public fedi instance is legally required to do this, but none of us actually do because we're all goobers and the cops aren't looking
