ahem: bluesky, like most corporate ventures, feels like its lying straight to my face. it makes promises i know it cant keep. you cant make an ethical timeline algorithm, you cant make a federated system that relies on a central core instance. none of the purported improvements over pre-musk twitter are real

the felt differences are caused by the fact that bots, grifters and general awful people just haven’t moved to bluesky yet but given x’s downward trajectory, this will change sooner or later (but probably sooner given musk wants to add a paywall)
