Honestly, the funniest thing to me about the mastodon for Harris stuff is that they literally could’ve just went to every mutual aid post, gave them money, then told them to promise to go vote or urged them to go vote, they’d make an infinitely larger impact on the election than donating 300k directly to the campaign (not mentioning the lives of marginalized people that they’d save or improve and the pain they’d alleviate)
@Clover they opted for personally souring half of fedi’s perception of her campaign and supporters throughout all of this, when if they just did that, they would’ve made way more of a positive impact and did free pr for her while helping so many people. all for a molecule of water in comparison to the ocean of donations from infinitely more rich and powerful figures and organizations.
@stupidpuppy @Clover the thing to understand here is that the hashtag forced the Mastocels to interact with a side of fedi that they never had to, with a completely different “ethnocultural” standard and belief system. They just cannot understand what they did wrong, because it’s like talking to an alien civilisation.
