i feel like tf.s is doing the same thing as those trans people who don't post nsfw who have minors dni: you're reinforcing that trans people are a nsfw topic, which is wrong and we need to dismantle it

@tauon i am not one to dickride tf.s. i've given them so much shit. but i do believe this is a way to protect against uh. getting sued for breaking child data protection laws. which would shut down the whole instance. and if a wider transphobic community saw a large instance with minors uh, existing, they would drag up any possible argument or evidence to shut it down. i do think this this is a good move. and they do not mention nsfw content in the announcement. it is about compliance with the law and protection from being sued, which, while it should not cause this, it does, and it is a legal and social liability. i do this this move does actually protect transfems.

and to the other point, do you not understand how easily transfems get called pedophiles for even being near a minor? because 2 weeks after i turned 18 it happened to me. transphobes dredge up any possible "evidence" they can to call us pedophiles. i understand not wanting to even get close to the possibility of that. i know it just comes from not being as experienced on the internet, but "mdni prejudice" is not a real thing. it's about protecting both parties from harassment.

@tauon like, there is a large degree of autonomy taken from minors, who are seen as property in the eyes of the law. i am 18. less than a year ago i was in the same place. my parents had complete control over me. i understand. but some of this shit is so excessive. trans people with "mdni" to protect themselves online are not personally prosecuting you. its bullshit.
